Our goal at the Misfits Community Care Collective is to empower and elevate the lives of families in need by providing resources and assistance. Through donations and collaboration, we have already served hundreds of families in Connecticut. We are committed to enhancing access to essential services and assisting thousands of families across the state, with the aim of fostering healthier, more secure, and empowered communities.

In October 2023, 58% of households in Connecticut below the Household Survival Budget Threshold found it challenging to pay for basic necessities like food, rent mortgage, car payments, and medical expenses, which is an increase from 50% in August 2020. Additionally, 69% of households below the Household Survival Budget Threshold were rent-burdened, and 44% were severely rent-burdened in 2022. The Household Pulse Survey conducted in October also revealed that financial stress has a negative impact on mental health, with 19% of respondents below the ALICE Threshold in Connecticut feeling nervous, anxious, or on edge almost every day in the prior two weeks. Together we can help relieve some of the pressure and stress these families are facing.
